Category Name

Enter the name of category being created.

Category Title

Enter the title of the category being created.

Category Alias

Text

Enter the alias or the internal name of the category. Alias is used to form Search Engine Friendly (SEF) URLs.

If you leave the Category Alias field blank, the value of the Category Title field will be considered as category alias. However, the value will be converted to lowercase, and spaces will be replaced with dashes.

Category Alias name consists of lowercase letters and hyphens (-), and no blank spaces or underscores are allowed in it. Alias is used in the URL when SEF feature is activated.

Published

Yes/No

If set to Yes, the added category is published.

Access

List

Select the access so that the  category is accessible only to the users who belong to the group containing the selected access level. The options available are as follows:

Public: Allows everyone to access the category.

Registered: Allows only registered users to access the category.

Special: Allows users of Author group or higher to access the category.

Parent Category

Dropdown

Select a section or category to which the current category will belong.

Ordering

Dropdown

Select the position at which the current category will be displayed in the list of categories in the Categories page.

Image

Dropdown

Select an image that will be displayed corresponding to this category at the front-end.

Image Position

Dropdown

Select the position where the image selected in the Image field will be placed in the front-end.

Description

Rich text

Enter description about the category.

Meta Description

Rich text

Enter the information for the meta description tag to be displayed as the summary of your category’s description in the search results list. For more information, refer to Terminology.

Meta Keywords

Enter the Meta Keywords of the category being created. For more information, refer to Terminology.

 

Extra parameters tabs will appear as soon as you switch Resources configuration parameter “Management Mode” to “Advanced” position. So Advanced mode allows to set personal parameters values for each category, for instance, you may set different templates for sections and every subcategory. Most category’s parameters were expanded with “Global” position, if you set ‘Global’ for the parameter then it means that category inherits section’s parameter value.

Primary Order
